Sally Fitzpatrick Postma

Private graveside services for Sally Fitzpatrick Postma, 87, Lawrence, KS, will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, KS. She died on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
Sally was born on November 21, 1924 in Lawrence, KS the daughter of Russell Michael and Charline Smith Fitzpatrick.
She was a homemaker. Earlier in her life, she was an elementary school teacher. She had taught one year in Syracuse, KS and later at Cordley Elementary School in Lawrence.
She was a graduate of Kansas University and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Social Sorority.
She married James L. Postma on December 27, 1954 in Lawrence, KS. He preceded her in death April 18, 1998.
Survivors include one daughter, Rosalea Carttar, and husband, Peter, Lawrence, KS; two granddaughters, Sally Carttar and Maggie Carttar, a grandson, Teddy Carttar and friend Don Schaake, of Lawrence.
An informal memorial gathering will be held at the family home in Lawrence from 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 29th.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the Lawrence Schools Foundation for the benefit of elementary teachers, and to the Feed the Hungry Organization in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
