Nan Hill

Nan was born Nan Louise Reynolds in Michigan in 1937, and graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit in 1966 with a degree in English Composition. She passed away peacefully on May 29, 2012.
She came to Lawrence in 1968, where she did oil painting in a downtown studio loft for many years. Her works appeared in several one and two person shows in Detroit, New York, San Francisco and elsewhere. Almost 100 works are in private collections around the country.
Nan’s poems and drawings have been published by small presses, and many essays and papers were written for business and government agencies.
She held a variety of full and part-time jobs career. While at The University of Kansas she was particularly proud to have worked on a literacy program for KU employees.
She is survived by two children, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
