Charles Milton Paden

Charles Milton Paden passed peacefully at home on July 20, 2012 with his loving family by his side. Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1011 Vermont in Lawrence, Kansas on Saturday August 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
He was born on March 13, 1936 in Stark City, MO the son of John and Erma Paden.
Charles spent his early years in Webster Groves, MO and attended Goodall Elementary School. The family returned to Stark City where he finished elementary school and graduated from Midway High School in 1954. He attended college at Southwest Missouri University on the Army GI Bill and focused his studies in chemistry before serving his time with the Army in Germany. After the Army, Charles began work with Pratt & Lambert Paint Company in downtown Kansas City, Missouri where he worked for 18 years as a chemist. He also attended Rockhurst University where he studied accounting.
He married Fifi (Feryal Saleh) in Buffalo, NY on November 17, 1962. They returned to Raytown, MO and eventually moved to Independence, MO to begin their marriage and start a family. The family settled in Lawrence, KS to take over Nabil’s Restaurant later renamed Fifi’s Restaurant.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Erma Paden. He is survived by his wife Fifi of 49 years; son Keith Paden and wife Christy of Overland Park; daughter Pam Paden of Lawrence; son Brian Paden and wife Mary of Lawrence; five grandchildren Jordan, Alec and Justin Paden of Overland Park, Wrenn and Cale Paden of Lawrence; and brother John Paden of Olathe. He was loved by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The family suggests memorials in his name to the Trinity Episcopal Church and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
