Hazel Hafenstein Massey, 88, passed away at Baldwin Healthcare Center, Baldwin City, KS, on Jan. 17, 2012.
Hazel was born in Alma, KS, Oct. 14, 1923 the daughter of Julius and Amelia Hafenstein.
Hazel married Walter Massey in Manhattan, KS, on November 25, 1956. He survives at the home in Lawrence, KS.
Hazel is survived by 2 brothers, Delmar Hafenstein, Osage City, KS, Donald Hafenstein, Alma, KS, and 2 sisters, Dorothy Hafenstein, Gladstone, MO, and Connie Yonke, Alma, KS.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Julius Hafenstein, Jr., and Leo Hafenstein; 3 sisters, Helen Thompson, Jean Smith and Faye Walker.
Private memorial service to be held at a later date.
