Roberta M. Lesh 1912 - 2012 Lawrence
A memorial service for Roberta M. Lesh, 100, Lawrence, KS, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel in Lawrence. Private entombment will be at the mausoleum at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Ks. Mrs. Lesh died Monday, January 16, 2012, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
Mrs. Lesh was born on January 15, 1912 in Humboldt, KS, the daughter of Robert L. And Lelah Bau Works. She attended the University of Kansas for one year and later graduated from Emporia State Teachers College in Emporia, KS.
She married Warren N. Lesh on June 25, 1939, in Humboldt, Kansas. Mr. Lesh preceded Mrs. Lesh in death on May 6, 2008. She was also preceded in death by their only son, Robert Lesh, on November 6, 2009.
Mrs. Lesh was a homemaker, former teacher, and a longtime member of the
First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence.
Her quiet and gentle demeanor provided a tranquil counterpoint to her brilliant and irrepressible husband Warren, who was a founding principal in the Lawrence certified public accounting firm of Lesh, Bradley, and Barrand, later to become Lesh, Barrand, Schehrer, Harrod, and Bennett.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor - Good Samaritan Fund, and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
