Elbert (EC) Leak

Elbert (EC) Leak died Fri. Jan.13 in N. Ft Myers, FL.
He was born in Eastern OK. on May 1, 1933 and attended schools in Okmulgee, OK State, and KU. He served in the US Army in Korea and he was employed by Farmland Industries for 38 years as a Chemical Engineer and as an Area Supervisor. Following retirement he did consulting in the fertilizer industry worldwide in the countries of Argentina, India, Pakistan and Bulgaria, and for many years was an active member of The International Nitrogen Pollution Study Group. He was also a life member of the Lawrence American Legion, the Ottawa Elks Lodge, the Eagles and TPA.
He is survived by Nancy Leak of the home, whom he married Oct. 27, 1974, and children: Michael Leak, Grand Junction, CO, Lisa Denise Leak, Enfield, CT, Kim Bolt and Linda Ison, Cape Coral, FL, Mark Messany, Muskegon, MI, Karen Messany, Overland Park, KS; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Memorial services are pending and will be announced in the spring. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans of the Topeka VA Hospital, the American Legion, LMH Endowment Association, or the First Presbyterian Church Parish Nurses in care of Rumsey-Yost
