Louise Randall

Louise Randall passed away at the University of Kansas Medical Center on February 27, 2012.
Louise was born on June 3, 1928 to Anna C. (Scheve) and John G. Nuessen. She was born and baptized in Maydale, Kansas. The oldest of ten children, she was raised on the family farm near Olpe.
She married George R. Randall on September 8, 1949, and lived most of her adult life in Emporia, Kansas.
She was a long-time active member of Sacred Heart Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society. She worked as a bookkeeper for Warren Jones CPA and the United Way. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served as a “pink lady” volunteer at Newman Memorial Hospital. For the past two years she was a resident of Pioneer Ridge Assisted Living in Lawrence, Kansas.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, George R. Randall; her parents; two brothers, Melvin Nuessen and Marvin Nuessen; and a sister, Helen Coen.
She is survived by a daughter, Terri Lansbury (John) of St. Joseph, Missouri; a son, Scott Randall (Terri) of Lawrence, Kansas; four grandchildren — Jennifer Lansbury, Brian Lansbury (Anna), Shawna Randall, and Sierra Randall; and two great-grandchildren — Ava Lansbury and Jayden Blond.
She is also survived by two brothers — Don Nuessen (Dee) of El Dorado and Ed Nuessen (Lola) of Olathe; four sisters–Rose Ann White (Larry) of Americus, Evelyn Watts of Ottawa, Janice Mercer (Clarence) of Emporia, and Marie Barrett of Hartford; and several nephews and nieces.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Catholic Heart Church, Emporia, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2. The family will receive visitors at the church from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, with the rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to Sacred Heart Church or Friends of the Emporia Zoo, sent in care of Charter Funerals, 501 West 6th Avenue, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
