Joe Basks, Jr Mission, KS
Joe Basks Jr, 76 of Mission, Kansas, formerly from Claremore Oklahoma, passed away December 9, 2012 at his home. He was born in Pawnee Oklahoma to Joe Sr and Blanche Basks. Joe was an AA speaker and sponsor for many years, traveling to many different meetings to speak. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Joe is survived by: one son, Joe Dale Basks and wife Stephanie of Pryor, OK; three daughters: Debra Ashby and husband Doug of Kellyville, OK, Toby Linam of Mazie, OK, and Shannon Basks of Pryor, OK. Four brothers, Leroy Basks and wife Nakita of Welch, OK, Frank Spence and wife Wilma of Chelsea, OK, Leon Basks and wife Helen of Claremore OK, and Jerry Basks of Sequoyah, OK. Three sisters Mary Dunlap of Claremore, OK, Angeline Douglas of Claremore, OK, and Caroline Obannon and husband Mike of Wichita, Kansas. Also eleven grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. As well as long time special friends Carol Neidhardt, Jimmy Turner, David Turner, and Steven Turner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Trent Basks, and two brothers Mike Basks, and Julias Spence.
Visitation will be held Sunday December 16 at Maple Hill Funeral Home, Kansas City, KS, 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Take 635 to Shawnee Drive, turn east on Shawnee Drive to 34th. Mapple Hill Funeral Home is on the corner - 913.831.3345
