Michael C. Noble

Michael C. Noble, 62, died July 25, 2012 at his home. Private family services and burial will be held at a later date.
Mike was born July 13, 1950, the son of Charles Noble and Mary Boyce Noble, in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from North High School in 1969. As a high school student, he excelled in wrestling. He received a scholarship to attend Graceland University, where he was a member of the wrestling team and graduated in 1973. Mike also won the Iowa State Wrestling Championship Award. He also took classes late at The University of Kansas. He was a teacher in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and substituted in several local schools. Later he sold real estate.
As a youth, Mike spent his summers at his grandparent’s farm near Seymour, Iowa. He had many fond memories of his grandmother and the time he spent on the farm. He also enjoyed working as a farm hand on a neighboring farm and fishing with his cousins. Among his hobbies were running, bicycling, hunting, and fishing.
Mike is survived by a daughter, Kathryn A. Noble, of Lawrence; a sister, Patricia (Patty) Dunham, a nephew, Tyler Palmer, and a niece, Lindsey Palmer, all of Stockton, California; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins in Iowa. He was preceded in death by both parents.
The family suggests memorials in his name to the Lawrence Public Schools Foundation and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
