Ruth L. Snodgrass Freeland, 99 years 11 months, of Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community in Lawrence, KS was born September 27, 1912 in Burns, KS the daughter of Otto Preston and Emma Flo (Cox) Fink. She went to be with the Lord August 12, 2012 at her residence. She had lived in Lawrence since 1949. She gave her heart to Jesus Christ at the age of 9 and lived out her life as a devoted Christian. She devoted years of her life to rendering compassionate nursing care for many patients. Husbands Lloyd V. Snodgrass and Earnest Freeland preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Rev. Robert Snodgrass and wife, Linda of Dallas TX; Dr. Lanny Snodgrass and wife, Dr. Tong Shen, of Lakewood, WA; a daughter Marybeth Harmon and husband, William of Lawrence, KS; Myrna Snodgrass, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, mother of Saree; five grandchildren Saree Ellis and husband, Brian; Danna Harmon and husband, Tom; Blake Snodgrass; Bill Harmon, Jr. and wife, Sha and Beth Pine; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W. 13th St. Lawrence, KS with the Rev. Robert Snodgrass officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorials in her name to Lawrence Wesleyan Church and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
