Arthur “Bo” C. Himpel 1919 - 2012 Tonganoxie
Arthur C. “Bo” Himpel, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at his home.
Funeral service will be 10:30 am Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the United Methodist Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will follow in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm Monday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.
Bo was born August 2, 1919 in Tonganoxie, KS, the son of Arthur and Cecile (Crady) Himpel. Bo worked as a builder, painter, and was former owner of Himpel Lumber Company, Tonganoxie. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during WWII. He was a member of the Tonganoxie VFW post #9271 and was instrumental in starting the VFW Memorial Park in Tonganoxie. He was also a member of the Tonganoxie United Methodist Church. He was united in marriage March 10, 1941 in Weston, KS, to Ona Mails. She preceded him in death on December 10, 1992 after 51 years of marriage.
Survivors include; two daughters, Eunice Brooks, Topeka, KS, Jeanie Stoll, Topeka; one brother, Don Himpel, Tonganoxie; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
