Helen R. Clark 1924 - 2011 Wellington
Memorial services for Helen R. Clark, 87, Wellington, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, in the chapel of Day Funeral Home in Wellington. A private burial will be held at a later date. A cremation has taken place.
Mrs. Clark died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at her residence.
She was born July 11, 1924, in Wellington, the daughter of Ray and Rachael Renn Rothrock.
Mrs. Clark briefly provided office assistance at Clark Manufacturing. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wellington and volunteered at the Presbyterian Bargain Store. Mrs. Clark was an active P.E.O. member for many years and enjoyed her bridge and culture clubs.
She married William “Ted” Clark on Dec. 29, 1943, in St. Louis. They celebrated 50 years of marriage. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Van Rothrock; and daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Bradford Carder.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Clark, Wellington; two granddaughters, Gretchen Burlingame and Rachael Greenfield; and two great-grandchildren, William Yuuki and Iris Shinoa Greenfield. She was also the aunt of Edwin Rothrock, of Lawrence.
The family suggests memorials with the local P.E.O. Scholarship Fund or the Wellington Food Bank, sent in care of the funeral home, 1030 Mission Road, Wellington, KS 67152.
