William M. Durrell

Funeral ceremonies for William M. “Bill” Durrell, 81, of Lawrence, formerly of Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. A graveside ceremony will be at Ozark Memorial Cemetery, Branson, Mo.
Mr. Durrell died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011.
He was born Dec. 24, 1929, in Ames, Iowa, the son of Glen R. and Hazel M. Morrison Durrell.
He was a 1953 graduate of Oklahoma A&M University (Oklahoma State University).
He was employed by Dunn and Bradstreet, Topeka Savings Association and Kansas Department of Transportation.
He married Sharon Harrington on Feb. 13, 1965, in Topeka.
He is survived by his former wife, Sharon, Lawrence; and a son, Stephen Durrell, Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Durrell.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
