Francis L. “Sonny” Foley

Funeral services for Francis L. “Sonny” Foley, 70, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Clinton Parkway Assembly of God Church, 3200 W. Clinton Parkway Court. Burial will follow in the Hubbel Hill Cemetery west of Tonganoxie.
He died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 20, 1941, in Lawrence, the son of Joseph and Dorothy Holladay Foley. He had lived in the Lawrence area his entire life.
Mr. Foley graduated from Draughons College of Commerce Engineering and attended Pittsburg State University and Kansas University.
For more than 50 years, he owned and operated Foley Construction Company Inc. in Lawrence.
He was a member of the Kansas Thoroughbred Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.
He married Reta Williams Foley. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Greg and wife Jackie, of Lecompton; a daughter, Debbie Foley, of Nixa, Mo.; a stepson, Kevin Williams and wife Keri, of Tomball, Texas; seven grandchildren, Kayla Foley, Kourtney Foley, Grant Williams, Grace Williams, Bobbie Pifer, Raven Pifer and Tyler Pifer; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beverly Virtue.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or to the Clinton Parkway Assembly of God Church, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
The family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
