Wayne C. Ridgway 1932 - 2011 Lawrence
Graveside service for Wayne C. Ridgway, 79, Lawrence will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Angela Lowe will officiate.
Mr. Ridgway died Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at his home.
He was born Jan. 15, 1932, in Tonganoxie, the son of Merle and Mary Gallagher Ridgway.
Mr. Ridgway moved to Lawrence in 1934, attended Lawrence public schools and retired from the Kansas University Union.
He married Ethel M. Caldwell on Oct. 9, 1955, in De Soto. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include sons Mark and wife Debbie, and Kevin, all of Lawrence; twin brother Willard R., of Lawrence; sisters Merlene Avery, of Lawrence, and Joanne Powell, of Lone Star; and grandchildren Bryce, Caleb, Bailey, and Carson Ridgway.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Damon Ridgway, on Nov. 20, 1966.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care, sent in care of the funeral home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS 66044.
