Kenneth Neil White, age 79. Date of Birth is 4/14/1932. Date of Death is 11/21/2011. Born in Kansas City, Kansas. Also lived in Salina and Lawrence, Kansas and Austin, Texas. Attended the University of Kansas. Ken was a Structural Engineer and was Past Chairman of the Kansas Consulting Engineers. He was also a member of the Salina area Chamber of Commerce where he served as the Past Chair of the Aviation Committee. He was also Past President of the Salina Downtown Lion’s Club. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salina, Kansas, where he served as the Past Chair of the Education Committee and taught Sunday school classes. Ken was also a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Ken enjoyed flying and playing saxophone in the New Horizons Band.
His parents, Walter and Vivian White, preceded Ken in death.
His wife Barbara White (Austin, TX), his son Rich White (Lawrence, Kansas), his daughter Susan Avila (Austin, Tx) and grandson Andre Avila (Austin, TX) survive Ken. He is also survived by his sisters Beverly Cline (Shawnee, Kansas) and Shirley Pearson (Kansas City, Kansas).
Memorial Service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church located at 3701 W. Slaughter Lane, Austin, Tx. Service will be on Saturday, November 26th at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers please give donations to the American Heart Association and Bethany Lutheran Church.
