Frank Glenn O’Neil

Frank Glenn O’Neil, age 85 of Wellsville, KS passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10AM, Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be 9AM, one hour prior to services, also on Tuesday. Entombment will follow services in the Wellsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wellsville UMC or the Mid-America Nutrition Program in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Frank Glenn O’Neil was born March 10, 1926 in Wellsville, KS the son of Paul John and Edith Mae (Pearson) O’Neil. He grew up in Wellsville and graduated from WHS in 1944. On April 19, 1946 he married Phyllis Arlene Seyler in Wellsville. They shared 63 years of marriage before her passing September 16, 2009. Frank served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and had been a high line electrical construction worker for over 40 years retiring from IBEW 304 of Topeka in 1988. Frank was a member of the Wellsville UMC, the Wellsville American Legion Post 194, a former member of the Black Jack Historical Society and the Local IBEW 304 of Topeka. Farming and cattle were a true love in Frank’s life and being a cattleman brought him great joy. Frank loved spending time with his grandchildren as well and will be missed dearly by his family and all those who knew and loved him.
Frank is survived by his son and daughter in law, Roger and Marcia O’Neil; son and daughter in law, Rick and Colleen O’Neil and daughter and son-in-law Janine and Larry Dwyer, all of Wellsville; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great grandchild due in June; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers, 1 sister and a nephew.
