James H. “Jim” Swanson, 82, Mountain Home, Ark., died Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at Good Samaritan Village.
He was born May 11, 1929, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of John and Queenie Ponmeyer Swanson.
Mr. Swanson was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for DuPont for 33 years. Upon retiring, he moved from Lawrence to Mountain Home in 1986.
He married Evelyn Holle Swanson on May 21, 1950. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Jeff and family, Lawrence, and Greg, Kansas City, Kan.; and two sisters, Barbara Utroska, Clinton, Iowa, and Shirley Sykes, Orange Park, Fla.
