Jim Scheve

Jim Scheve, 58, passed away in Springfield, Missouri, on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 2, 1953, to Harold and Pauline Scheve. Jim grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, where he graduated from the University of Kansas in 1976 and received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry, in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1980. Jim joined the doctors of Sunshine Eye Clinic in 1981.
Jim is survived by his wife, Linda, of 35 years, and sons Jacob and Jesse, both of Springfield. He is also survived by his sister, Jane Neary, and brothers Daniel Scheve and John Scheve, along with many other loving family members.
Jim was dedicated to many organizations, including the Springfield Association for the Blind, Parkview High School Baseball Booster Club, Federation of Fly Fishermen, Abou Ben Adhem Shriners, and many others.
Jim loved his family, his career, and the people he worked with. He also loved baseball, coaching many of his sons’ little league teams, and was an avid supporter of Parkview High School baseball. Jim also loved fly-fishing with his many friends and with his sons. He was particularly fond of the North Fork of the White River.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
