Harold R. Fuller Sr.

Funeral services for Harold R. Fuller Sr., 81, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, with the Rev. Verdell Taylor officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Mr. Fuller died Monday, May 9, 2011, at his home.
He was born Sept. 30, 1929, in Chicago, the son of Fred W. and Rose Matthews Fuller. He graduated from Evanston Township High School and later attended Little Rock Junior College. He also served in the U.S. Army Air Force.
Mr. Fuller was a field representative in the construction industry for Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill for 20 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Luke A.M.E. Church where he served as trustee. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Ottawa and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
He married Wilna Delores Woods on Sept. 14, 1951, in Waukegan, Ill. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Lance E. and Harold R. Jr., both of Ottawa; a daughter, Kim D. Fuller, Lawrence; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to service time on Saturday.
The family suggests memorials to St. Luke A.M.E. Church, sent in care of the funeral home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS, 66044.
