Dale Lee Brecheisen 1935 - 2011 Wellsville
Funeral services for Dale Lee Brecheisen, 75, Wellsville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Clearfield Church south of Eudora.
Mr. Brecheisen died Monday, May 2, 2011, in Olathe, of brain cancer.
He was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Eudora, the son of Philip Andrew Brecheisen and Edith Louise Meuffels Brecheisen. He attended Baldwin High School, and graduated in 1953.
He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1956-1958.
Mr. Brecheisen had worked as a construction foreman and mechanic, and was trainer and owner of Brecheisen Racing Stabbles from 1980-2011.
He was a lifetime member of Quarter Horse Association, Jockey Club, Kansas Quarter Horse Association and 101 Operating Engineers.
He married Barbara Susan Hunter on May 6, 1955, in Douglas County. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Lynn and Jeff Lee; a daughter, Dianna Lynn Breecheisen; three brothers, Marvin, Jay Dee and Philip; a sister, Marcella Madl; six grandchildren, Jason and Jamie Olmstead, and Lucas, Katie, Sommer and Jesse Brecheisen; and two great-grandchildren, Kadyn and Ryder Olmstead.
