Robert E. Saathoff 1938 - 2011 Lawrence
Funeral services for Robert E. “Bob” Saathoff, 72, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Norwood officiating. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Saathoff died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at his home.
He was born May 11, 1938, in Nevada, Mo., the son of Benjamin L. and Edna Belle Hart Saathoff. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1956.
Mr. Saathoff worked at Morton Block Company, Kansas Color Press, and retired from Lawrence Paper Company in 2008.
He married Judy A. Hoover on May 30, 1958, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Larry and wife Sheryl, and Gary, all of Lawrence; a brother, Ben Jr. and wife Rose, Mesa, Ariz.; a stepbrother, Jerry Petrie and wife Joyce, Lawrence; two stepsisters, Janice Quintana, Gilbert, Ariz., and Shirley Pampus, Lamar, Colo.; and three grandchildren, Becky, Rachelle and Renae.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Special Olympics or Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care, sent in care of the funeral home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS 66044.
