Delbert M. Baxter

Delbert M. Baxter, 76, of Lawrence, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at his home.
He was born June 12, 1935 at Willis, KS, the son of John Winfield and Hazel Mildred Wiley Baxter, Sr.
Mr. Baxter served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He worked for the Eaton Corporation, formerly known as Aeroquip, for 17 years in brake assembly and as a janitor and the Hercules Powder Company for five years.
He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and the American Legion, both in Lawrence.
He married Mary Margaret Harrison on June 21, 1958 at Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Timothy W. Baxter, Lawrence, a brother, John W. Baxter, Jr., Ankeny, IA, and a sister, Delores Lycan, Olathe, KS.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be 3:00PM Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the First Southern Baptist Church. Inurnment will be at the De Soto Cemetery at a later date.
