Shirley Rose Lawellin 1936 - 2011 Lawrence
Funeral services for Shirley Rose Lawellin, 75, Lawrence will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eudora United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Hesper Cemetery in Eudora.
Mrs. Lawellin died Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 29, 1936 in Eudora, the daughter of Chester and Clara Votaw Baecker.
She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also an avid KU basketball fan.
Mrs. Lawellin was a member of Eudora Methodist Church.
She married Gary D. Lawellin on Feb. 14, 1952, in Olathe. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include four daughters, Debra Bost and husband Floyd, Lawrence, Janet Lawellin-Erwin and husband Joe, Eudora, Joyce Shontz and partner Danita, Lawrence, and Laura McGaw and husband Sean, Lawrence; a sister, Katherine Woodson, Perry; eight grandchildren, Megan Bland, Cody Bost, Krystal Wiggins, David Erwin, Lydia Shontz, Jessica Long, Robert Long and Kristen McGaw; and five great-grandchildren, Jack Bland, Alyssa Hunt-Bost, Rylen, Elizabeth Erwin and Josiah Long.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby, Wanda, and Phyllis.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary — Eudora Chapel.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
