Thelma ‘Ruth’ Wilhite

Thelma Ruth Wilhite, 81, of Spring Hill, KS formerly of rural Linwood, KS passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Black Hawk Assisted Living in Spring Hill, KS. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Basehor, 1410 N. 155th St., Basehor, KS with burial to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery near Basehor. Friends may call at the visitation from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday evening, May 31, 2011 also at the First Baptist Church of Basehor. The family suggests memorial contributions to the State Library of Kansas Talking Book Service, 1200 Commercial St., Emporia, KS 66801 or to the church.
Mrs. Wilhite was born March 21, 1930 in Lock Springs, MO. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and raising a garden. She was involved in 4-H as a member and as a leader. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Basehor.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clifford A. Wilhite, in 2001. And is survived by her 7 children, Dennis and his wife Kathi Wilhite of Bonner Springs, KS; Tom and his wife Mylinda Wilhite of Baldwin, KS; Ruth Ann and her husband Tom Bigge of Stockton, KS; Mary Sue and her husband Dale Smith of Wamego, KS; Marcia Zimmerman of Holton, KS; Diana and her husband Paul Sowers of Spring Hill, KS; and Donna and her husband Mitch Keck of Stilwell, KS. 23 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.
