Oscar F. Brandenburgh, Jr.

Oscar F. Brandenburgh, Jr., 81, of Topeka passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 4, 1930, at Topeka, one of ten children. As a young man Oscar worked for Hills Packing Company. Later he worked many years of road construction for various companies. He retired from Hamm Construction of Perry.
He married Joan Stover on June 11, 1949, at Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Betty (George) Seachord of Carbondale, Steve (Murel) Brandenburgh (Topeka), Nancy (Art) Kuehler of Lawrence and Wes (Deanna) Brandenburgh of Hoyt; 10 grandchildren, Greg Seachord, Tammy Ryan, Carie Bartel, Rosie Maples, Shawn Alexander, David Alexander, Shelby Kuehler, Shaylon Kuehler, Sam Brandenburgh and Kayla Brandenburgh; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Flowers of Topeka and a brother, Ted Brandenburgh of Jackson, MO.
Funeral services will be at the Seaman Congregational Church at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30th. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. Mr. Brandenburgh will lie in state from 12-8:30 p.m. on Friday at the Davidson Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 pm Friday evening, also at the funeral home.
