Tyler R. Jeck, 19, of Pittsburg died July 16, 2011 at Beaver Lake at Rogers, Arkansas.
Mr. Jeck was born December 22, 1991 at Ft. Scott, Kansas the son of David and Deborah Tyler Jeck. Tyler was a student at Baker University at Baldwin City, Kansas. Tyler was raised in Pittsburg, attended St. Mary’s Grade School, and graduated from the Class of 2010 at Colgan High School. He was a Pre-Med student at Baker University at Baldwin City, Kansas playing baseball on a scholarship. He played football, basketball, and baseball at Colgan and were 4-time 2A State Baseball Champs and one year 2A Champs in basketball. He was a 4.0 student in high school and also at Baker University. He worked for New Hope in Pittsburg this summer. He was a student council member and National Honor Society member while at Colgan. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg. Survivors include his parents, David and Deborah Jeck of Pittsburg, a brother, Stuart Jeck of the home, two aunts, Elizabeth Dittmann and Family of Bettendorf, Iowa and Vicki Hudson and Family of Joplin, Missouri, an uncle, Richard and Marilyn Jeck and Family of Tucson, Arizona, and 12 cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A.M. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg with Father Michael Baldwin, Father Thomas Stroot, Father Larry Parker, and Father Brian Nelson as concelebrants. Burial will be at the Highland Park Cemetery at Pittsburg. Rosary will be at 5 P.M. Sunday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where the family will receive friends following the rosary. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials to Tyler’s dream to further Stuart’s education and baseball career at West Virginia University. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
