Thomas Madison Carter Lawrence
A private family service for Thomas Madison Carter, 65, Lawrence, will take place.
Mr. Carter died Friday, July 22, 2011, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 22, 1945, in Roanoke, Va., the son of Lester Garette and Pearl Edna Carter. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1965 in Osceola, Mo.
Mr. Carter attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo.
He worked for Lawrence Paper Company, K-Mart Distribution and retired from the buildings and grounds department of the Lawrence school district.
He married Pamela D. Thompson in 1974 in Tonganoxie. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Brandy Carter Granville and husband Reggie and Cori Carter Nehrbass, all of Lawrence; five grandsons, David, Camron and Cale Granville, and Case and Cage Carter; and a granddaughter, Caylee Nehrbass.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care, 200 Maine, Suite C, Lawrence, KS 66044.
