Nora May Skaggs 1931 - 2011 Tonganoxie
A memorial service for Nora May Skaggs, 79, Tonganoxie, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Congregational Church, Tonganoxie. Inurnment in Hubbel Hill Cemetery will be private.
She died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011.
She was born Oct. 9, 1931, in Vinland, the daughter of William Claude and Mabel Pumroy Garner. She was a 1949 graduate of Basehor High School.
Mrs. Skaggs was a member of and secretary for First Congregational Church.
She married Richard W. Skaggs on April 21, 1951, in Huntsville, Ark. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Lee, Westcliffe, Colo., and Timothy Lynn, Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Terylan Louise Walker and Tammy Lou Kissinger, both of Tonganoxie; a brother, William Claude Garner, Tonganoxie; a sister, Betty Lou Wasson, Bonner Springs; a companion, James William Cassity, Tonganoxie; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Alliance Against Family Violence or First Congregational Church, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.
