Dona Mae Wichman 1933 - 2011 Eudora
Funeral services for Dona Mae Wichman, 77, Eudora, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary — Eudora Chapel. Burial will follow at Eudora Cemetery.
Ms. Wichman died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 15, 1933, in Topeka, the daughter of Albert D. and Helen A. Altenbernd Wichman.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cross-stitching and making hand-piece quilts. She was an avid KU sports fan and was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Eudora.
As a youth, she was active in 4-H and won state recognition with her cross-stitched quilts.
Survivors include her sister, Norma Schmille, Lawrence; a niece, ViAnn Deathe, Lawrence; a nephew, Victor L. Schmille, Lawrence; three great-nieces, two great-nephews; and one great-great-niece.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the mortuary in Eudora.
The family suggests memorials to the Kansas Special Olympics, sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
