Kurt D. Ramos, 45, of Eudora, passed away Dec. 2, 2011 in Aurora, Colo. while on a business trip there. He was born Oct. 16, 1966 in Kansas City, MO the son of David R. and Edna Marie Ramos. He went to high school at Maryville, Mo. before attending Northwest Missouri State. He joined the Missouri National Guard before beginning his working career. He was the Operations Manager for Office Depot in Kansas City, Transportation Manager for First Choice in Kansas City and was Senior District Manager for RCS in Lawrence and Topeka. He enjoyed performing as a standup comedian in the Kansas City area. Kurt was a baseball and football coach for his sons’ teams while they were growing up.
He was married to Susan Herman on January 20, 1990 in Topeka. They lived in Auburn, KS, Topeka, KS, Blue Springs, Mo., Lawrence, KS and the past three years in Eudora, KS.
He is survived by his wife Susan Ramos of Eudora; sons, Harrison David Ramos and Joseph Daniel Ramos of Eudora; his mother, Edna Marie Ramos of Maryville, MO; his brothers, Gregory Rogers of Portland, OR, Timothy Rogers and James Barnes of Maryville, MO; and his sister, Tambrey Ann Brown of Maryville, MO.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Raul Ramos.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12th at Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery northwest of Topeka. Mr. Ramos will lie in state from 1-6 on Sunday where the family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday afternoon. To leave a message for the family please visit www.davidsonfuneral.com.
