Katherine Josephine Flowers 1923 - 2011 Eudora
Graveside services for Katherine Josephine Flowers, 88, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Eudora Cemetery.
She died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at her home.
She was born March 6, 1923, in Mankato, Minn., the daughter of Harry B. and Lola V. Romig Hansen.
She graduated from Mankato High School and attended cosmetology school in Mankato. She worked as a secretary for Major Fisk in Washington, D.C., and was a merchandise manager for Sears in Mankato. She also worked part time for Trudy Robinson as a beautician in Lawrence and was a wife and mother.
She married Richard Allen Flowers on Nov. 10, 1960, in Manchester, Iowa. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Don Flowers and wife Kathy, Odessa, Mo., and Randy Flowers and life-long partner Rick Howell, Eudora; one daughter, Jo Ann Flowers, Topeka; five grandchildren, Amber Moody, Darcie Rodgers-Ziesenis, Branden Flowers, Kaitlynn Flowers and Brian Freeman; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel.
