Bernard J. Grosdidier

BERNARD J. GROSDIDIER, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Presbyterian Manor. Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 708 North 4th Street, Kansas City, KS 66101, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Immediately following the Mass lunch will be served with burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. at 1p.m. The family requests no flowers and suggests memorial donations to St. John’s Church.
Bernard was born on March 27, 1924 in Eudora, KS to Albert and Clara (Schehrer) Grosdidier. He attended Eudora High School, Benedictine College and later graduated from Kansas State University where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. Bernard served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He continued his career in agriculture by farming and working for the Department of Agriculture and as a Researcher for Rhone Poulenc Chemical Company. Bernard was a member of the American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post #14, St. John’s Catholic Men’s Club, St. John’s PTO and the Senior Citizens Club.
He was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Janet Thompson, and Brothers Herbert and Arthur, and Sister Rosemary Zollars. Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Agnes, of the home and daughter, Diane Grosdidier; Brother, Gerald (Helen); Sisters, Magdalene Gustin and Arlene (Richard) Krizman. The family extends a very special thanks to KC Hospice personnel and Presbyterian Manor for their loving care to Bernard during his illness.
