Luella Lorraine Waisner 1920 - 2011 Lawrence
Funeral services for Luella Lorraine Waisner, 91, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Ind., with the Rev. Gerald Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.
Mrs. Waisner died Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 14, 1920, in Spring Fork, Mo., the daughter of Rolla Warner and Emma Ellen Alderman Neffendorf. She moved to Douglas County in 1951.
Mrs. Waisner sold Watkins products during the 1960s. She worked as a bow operator for Hallmark Cards in Lawrence for 19 years, until her retirement in March 1985.
She enjoyed gardening, growing roses, and baking pies and cakes for family and friends.
She married George Roe Waisner on July 25, 1942, in Sedalia, Mo. He preceded her in death May 11, 2003.
Survivors include three sons, Gene Ray, Berryton, E. Wayne, Baldwin City, and John LeRoy, Eudora; two daughters, Irene L. “Rene” Wissler and Barbara Yvonne Rollins, both of Lawrence; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
