Barton Ward
Private services for Barton Ward, 60, Lawrence, will be at a later date.
He died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was an organ donor and was cremated.
He was born March 11, 1951, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Buford L. and Marcia J. Wade Ward.
He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1970.
During the past 30 years, he worked various jobs in the Lawrence area. His most recent job was at Sunrise Garden Center in Lawrence.
Mr. Ward enjoyed bingo, gardening and cats.
Survivors include two sisters, Marsha K. Akins, Hartford, and Marquita A. Stout, Lawrence; two brothers, Gary L. Ward, and Kenneth L. Ward, both of Vassar; aunts and uncles, including Kenneth and Vada Lantz, Tecumseh, and Mary Hutson, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; and various nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
