Kathryn D. Brown
Kathryn D. Brown, 93, of Lawrence, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born November 10, 1917 at Cortland, NE, the daughter of Anton and Ethel Grace Eckerd Oltman, Jr. Kathryn worked as a secretary for an insurance office; she was a restaurant owner and a homemaker. She was a member of the Manitoba Buddhist Temple, O.W.L. -Older Women’s League, Girl Scouts, a Douglas County Housing Authority Board Member and the Gem and Mineral Society. She married Ralph Lewis Ulrich. She later married George Brown. Survivors include a Son, Fredrich Louis Ulrich, Winnipeg, CAN., a Daughter, L. Kay Metzger, Lawrence, a Brother, Dietrich Paul Oltman, Chicago, IL., eight Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three Brothers and four Sisters. Cremation is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Douglas County VNA and sent in care of Chapel Oaks, 3821 W. 6th St., Lawrence, KS 66049.
