Treva D. Hunt, 81, of Pomona, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010. She was born July 15, 1929, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Dora Mills and Ernest Wickstron.
Mrs. Hunt grew up in Lane, Kansas, and was a member of the Lane High School class of 1947. She attended Kansas State University and moved to Pomona, Kansas, in 1953.
Treva married her first husband, Jerome Leland Adell, who preceded her in death on November 3, 1988. She was united in marriage to her current husband, Lyle Hunt, on January 22, 1994, at the Pomona United Methodist Church.
Treva was the founder and Queen Mother of the Pomona Chapter of the Red Hat Society. She was also a member of the Pomona United Methodist Women and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ottawa, Kansas. She retired from the East Central Vocational Cooperative where she served as the secretary.
Treva was preceded in death by her first husband, her parents and a brother, Paul Wickstron.
She is survived by her husband Lyle, of the home; a daughter, Janette Nebel and husband Paul, Overland Park, Kansas; a son, Jerry Adell and his wife Ruth of Corona, Ca; a sister, Ninetta Callaway, Smithville, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 17 at Pomona United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Pomona. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa, Ks. where the family will meet with friends.
