Samuel Charles Mozingo

Samuel Charles Mozingo, Lawrence, age 42, died unexpectedly on Sept. 10, 2010, while vacationing in Fox Island, Wash.
Sam was born on Aug. 11, 1968, in Dallas, Texas, the son of John Charles Mozingo and Mary Sloan Mozingo. He attended schools and was active in Boy Scouts in Dallas, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas, in 1995.
Until his cancer diagnosis 2 years ago, he worked in sales and sales management, primarily in the employment field, “finding jobs for people,” as he liked to say. His greatest joys in life were camping and fishing, friends, football, cooking and his dog, Modella.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Mozingo, Lawrence; his sister, Sarah Mozingo, Hutch-inson; his grandfather, Eldon Sloan, Topeka; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will all miss his ready smile and easy manner.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at Trinity Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Rob Baldwin officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, your local animal shelter, or the charity of your choice.
