William D. Naff

Funeral services for William Dale Naff, 78, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Southside Church of Christ, with Mark Abshier officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Naff died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at his home.
He was born Nov. 3, 1931, in St. Paul, Kan., the son of Philip Donald and Bessie Lavone Welch Naff. He graduated from University High School at Kansas University in 1949.
Mr. Naff served as Petty Officer 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Southside Church of Christ and a past member of Lions Club. He worked for Southwestern Bell for many years, retiring as a supervisor.
He married Darlene M. Votaw on April 24, 1953. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, William N. “Buddy” and wife Cynthia, and Mark A. and wife Cynthia, all of Lawrence; a daughter, Kim E. Pendergraft and husband A. Powell, Austin, Texas; two brothers, Robert E., Eudora, and E. Duaine and wife Martha, San Bernardino, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Naff was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lavone Broyles.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will meet them from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
