Evelyn Brown

Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn Brown, 87, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
She died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 11, 1922, in Richland, the daughter of Martin F. and Clara J. Boursaw Ice.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Brown was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Altar Society Groups 6 and 7, and the R.E.A.C.H. Program. She was also involved in the National Association of Letter Carriers Auxiliary Branch No. 177 and Willing Workers Club of Lecompton.
She married William F. “Kise” Brown on June 20, 1942. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1979.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and Al Ice.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Frances and husband Michael Riner, Lawrence; three sons, Stanley Brown and wife Felicia, Richard Brown and Edward Brown, all of Lawrence; two granddaughters, Saundra Wagner and Alexis Riner; a great-granddaughter, Michaela Wagner; and a sister, Judy Hill, Lawrence.
The family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.
