Frances Elizabeth Taylor
Funeral services for Frances Elizabeth Taylor, 91, Wellsville, formerly of Gardner, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Wellsville Retirement Center.
She was born July 10, 1919, in Gardner, the daughter of Virgil Earl and Leona May Clayton Johnston.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and a longtime Johnson County resident, moving to Wellsville in 1997. She was a member of First Christian Church of Olathe and Morning Grange.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, embroidery and making quilts. She also enjoyed playing cards with the Fit and Fun club in Wellsville.
She married Thomas Reynolds Taylor on Sept. 26, 1941, in Olathe. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bernard Lee Taylor; and a brother, Wilbur Johnston.
Survivors include a son, Harold Dean Taylor and wife Carol, Wellsville; a daughter-in-law, Burdine Taylor, Baldwin City; six grandchildren, Karen, Karla, Kurt, Janine, Eugene and Dean; four great-grandchildren, Derek, Anthony, Kyle and Lauren; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kaydence and Colton.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
