Mary Ellen Rausch Paulson

Funeral services for Mary Ellen Rausch Paulson, 75, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Grinter Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.
Mrs. Paulson died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 29, 1934, in Olathe, the daughter of David and Dorothy Lee Chesney. She attended schools in Clovis, N.M.
Mrs. Paulson was employed by Davol Inc. until it closed. She was previously employed by King Radio and Packer Plastics. She was a member of the Eudora Assembly of God, the Eagles No. 309 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Women in the Moose Chapter No. 1091. She enjoyed square dancing, traveling, camping, socializing and being “Grammy.”
She married Alvin L. Rausch on May 5, 1956. He died Feb. 28, 1971.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter.
Survivors include five children, Frances Alexander, Greensboro, N.C., Vickie Rausch, Lawrence, Dorothy Williams and husband Lloyd, Lenexa, David Rausch and wife Mary, Olathe, and Mary K. Dixon, Lawrence; a brother, Herb Chesney and wife Peggy, Parachute, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care, sent in care of the funeral home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS 66044.
