Donald Leon Andrew

Donald Leon Andrew died Sept. 23, 2010. Don was born in Eudora, KS on Oct. 28, 1924. He is survived by his wife, Doris, of 66 years, two children, Donald Gene Andrew of Washington, TX, and Sandra Lynn McManness of Lawrence, KS, one brother, Floyd Andrew of Lawrence, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and five nieces and nephews.
Don retired as superintendent of the water treatment plant in Lawrence.
Always active and interested in sports, he was a softball pitcher in his youth and later enjoyed snow skiing. Don retired and moved to San Antonio, TX where he took up bowling, which he continued upon moving to Sierra Vista, AZ. Don won the National Seniors Championship in Salt Lake City. By winning again the next year, he became the first person to ever win two consecutive titles in the Senior Championship Competitions.
Don and Doris lived in the Sierra Vista area for seventeen years, where Don made many friends and enjoyed the beauty and challenge of the mountains.
Interment was private.
