Private memorial services will be held for Merritt Martin Corbin, 90, Greenville, S.C.
He died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, in Greenville.
He was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Forest, Ohio, the son of Charles C. and Lillian Mae Kratt Corbin.
Mr. Corbin graduated from Ohio State University and was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the Pacific with the 727th Amphibian Tractor Battalion.
He married Ruth Helen Wright on June 20, 1942, at Fort Baker, Calif. She survives, of the home in Cleveland, S.C.
After his military service, they lived mostly in Wooster, Ohio, where Mr. Corbin worked for Farmers Production Credit Association. They moved to Winter Haven, Fla., in 1996, then to Cleveland, S.C., in 2009.
Mr. Corbin was a member of the Wooster Lions Club, First United Methodist churches in Wooster and Winter Haven, and the Ohio State University Alumni Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen DeVictor and husband Frederick, Lawrence, and Ann Edwards and husband Tommy, Cleveland, S.C.; five grandchildren, Chris DeVictor, Cameron DeVictor, Darcy Boyle, Trey Edwards and Lauren Soder; and a great-grandchild, Cecilia Divine-DeVictor.
