Francis R. Worley

Funeral services for Francis Raymond Worley, 88, Gardner, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Central United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Worley died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at Vintage Park in Gardner.
He was born Jan. 2, 1922, in Tonganoxie, the son of Lester Raymond and Jessie Davidson Worley. He had been a Lawrence resident since 1956.
Following high school graduation, Mr. Worley served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 as a corporal. He worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service from 1957 until he retired in 1984.
He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He was also a 50-year member of the Lawrence Masonic Lodge No. 6. He enjoyed dancing at the senior center.
He married Bonnie June Laughlin on Sept. 2, 1942, in Harrisonville, Mo. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include four sons, Gary Francis and wife Rita, Monticello, Ark., David Ward and wife Maria, Lawrence, Dennis Raymond and wife Mary, Gardner, and Craig Alan and wife Rhonda, Lawrence; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Day, Warsaw, Mo.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
The family will greet friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
