O.A. Rider Jr. 1943 - 2010 Bonner Springs
O.A. “Tex” Rider, Jr. age 67 of Bonner Springs, KS., passed away on Friday Nov. 19, 2010 at Medicalodges Eudora. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday Nov. 22, 2010 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs with cremation to follow and a family committal at a later date. Friends may call at the visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Good Shepherd Hospice in care of the funeral home.
Tex was born on March 8, 1943 in Parsons, KS., and grew up in Lawrence, KS., later moving to Bonner Springs in 2004. He worked the majority of his life in the Heavy Highway Construction, the last 20 years with Clarkson Construction. He was proud to be a member of the Chickasaw Nation and enjoyed his Native American Heritage. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a big fan of Nascar, Chiefs and Sooner Football. He loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Ginger Lynch in 2009. He is survived by 2 sons Lance Rider and wife Cindy of Pleasant Hill, MO., Tony Rider and wife Tracy of Shawnee, KS., 4 brothers Dennis Rider of Climax Springs, MO., Larry Rider of Oak Grove, MO., A.L. “Dusty” Rider of Grain Valley, MO. and Wade Rider of Alabaster, AL., 2 sisters Maelyne Duncan of Billings, MT., Judy Gilliland of Lawrence, KS., 3 grandchildren Jordan, Ashton and Hayden.Ù
