Joseph A. Schaal, 69, of Lawrence, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at his home.
He was born September 25, 1941 at Kansas City, MO, the son of William Francis Schaal and Nellie Marie Parks Tracy. Joseph worked as a Mechanic, Handyman, and Truck Driver for A & M Towing. He was a member of Lawrence Friends Church.
He married Anita Jean Becker on November 15, 1965 at St. Louis, MO. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a Son, Marvin J. Schaal, Lawrence; five Daughters, Theresa Schaal, Independence, MO, Tammy Clark, Garnett, KS, and Michelle A. Moon, Angelica L. Schaal and Jackie Stone all of Lawrence; a Brother, Richard Tracy, Prairie Village, MO; two Sisters, Jackie Occhipinto, Gallatin, MO and Marie Stice, Cole Camp, MO; a Step-Brother, Jim Brandes, Blue Springs, MO; a Step-Sister, Susan Schaal, Kansas City, MO; 20 Grand-children and 11 Great-Grand-children.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Step-Father, Fredrick G. Tracy, a Brother, William Francis Schaal and a Sister, JoAnne Brandes.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Lawrence Chapel Oaks. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lecompton, KS. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and sent in care of the funeral chapel, 3821 W. 6th St., Lawrence, KS 66049.
