Joan Woodward

Funeral services for Joan “Jody” Woodward, 67, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Lawrence. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Woodward died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born on March 15, 1943, in Garden City, the daughter of Roy F. and Velda Vath Tinkum. She was raised in Cimarron, attended public schools there and graduated from Cimarron High School. She had lived in Lawrence since June 1964.
She was the retired director of the Lawrence Meals on Wheels Program, after 25 years service.
Mrs. Woodward was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrence and formerly volunteered for the Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen, and was a former Cub Scout den mother and PTA President at Deerfield Elementary School in Lawrence. Other memberships included the D.A.R. and the Pilot Club of Lawrence, where she served as a past president and treasurer.
She married Richard Woodward on Oct. 13, 1960, in Cimarron. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Richard Woodward and partner Greg Zuendel, Kansas City, Mo., and Greg Woodward, wife Sally and their two children, Nic and Lola Woodward, Overland Park; and a sister, Jeanne Loewen and family, of Montezuma.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.
