Albert E. Wilson

Funeral service for Albert E. “Gene” Wilson, 65, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will take place at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth.
Mr. Wilson died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka.
He was born June 22, 1945, in Weaubleau, Mo., the son of Charles Elson and Eva Jane Ligthle Wilson.
Mr. Wilson served in the U.S. Army. He worked in maintenance and was retired.
He married Terri Stacy in July 1997 in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Dena Barker, Texas, Bobbi Bock, West Virginia, and Megan Wilson, Lawrence; two sons, Steven Wilson, Kansas City, Kan., and Kaiden Wilson, Lawrence; two brothers, Randy Wilson, Charlotte, N.C., and Roger Wilson, Kansas City, Mo.; five sisters, Janey Wilson-Chase, Holton, Rispie Wilson-Riffe, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; Laura Wilson-Owens, Philadelphia, Tenn.; Frances Wilson-Crew, Advance, N.C., and Joyce Wilson-Brandenburg, Blue Springs, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
