Betty M. Beckwith

Graveside services for Betty M. Beckwith, 79, Lecompton, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lecompton.
She died Friday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook.
She was born Sept. 13, 1931, in Lawrence, the daughter of Fred Edward and Ruby May Black Weeks.
She graduated from Lecompton High School.
She worked in the production department for Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant in the late 1960s. She then worked in human resources for Hallmark in Lawrence from April 1980 to 1992.
She married John Henry George Beckwith on June 26, 1950, in Lecompton. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2000.
Survivors include a son, John Beckwith, Cheyenne, Wyo.; two daughters, Linda Curran, Bellevue, Neb., and Sally Yost, Lecompton; a brother, Bob Weeks, Lecompton; a sister, Ann Hibner, of Tennessee; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Lawrence Chapel Oaks funeral home.
